About Groundwork

No owner should build the systems alone

Many owners built their business without a playbook or formal business training. That's an achievement. Growth eventually asks for structure that one person can't build on top of a full week. Groundwork exists to build it with you.

Our approach

Hands-on and sustained

We take a seat at your management table, hold an opinion, and stay through implementation.

A seat at the table

We sit in your leadership meetings every week, alongside your managers.

An opinion

We ask the hard question, tell you what we see, and then build the plan to answer it.

Through implementation

We stay until the rhythm runs and your managers can run it without us.

What we believe

Four principles

01

Simple systems get used

A few trusted numbers and one clear agenda. Your team uses them every week because they're easy to use.

02

A team carries more

A business grows further when the leadership team shares the load with the founder.

03

Coach the managers

We teach your team how to run the system, so the work keeps going after we step back.

04

Say what we see

We're direct with owners. Honest feedback early saves months of drift later.

Our story

Built by operators

Groundwork grew out of operating experience: building and running a marketing company, and leading landscaping companies as a general manager.

That meant building leadership meetings, scorecards and plans while the work kept coming in. We know what it's like to build the boat while swimming, because we've done it from the inside.

Groundwork brings that experience to owners who are where we were. As we grow, every Integrator and Mentor we add has sat in the seat they're coaching.

Integrator

Systems, technology and leadership teams

Daryn has spent 20 years in the Integrator seat beside Visionary founders, bringing a technical, systems-first approach to how a business runs. Running a marketing company taught Daryn how to build a business, and general manager roles at landscaping companies taught Daryn how to build leadership teams.
